Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) will participate in the Rally Mexico from Thursday. Thierry Neuville will start there for the tenth time. In 2013, 2014 and 2017 he finished third, his best result in this competition. For Martijn Wydaeghe it will be his first participation in Mexico.

Even though he has never won this rally, Neuville is a big fan. “I am thrilled that we are returning to Mexico. It is a competition that cannot be compared to the rallies we drive in Europe,” says Neuville.
“The rides look different here, we ride at a high altitude, the engines have less power, the high temperatures have an effect and the rides are very challenging. Because quite a few parts of rides return regularly, you know the course better, which means you can push more. And of course I can’t forget the enthusiastic fans. They make it a real party, starting with the first two short rides in the center of Guanajuato. They are iconic rides with some tunnels and where you have to ride on cobblestones with dirt tires. It’s not easy at all but I enjoyed it time and time again and I often got there very quickly. Our goal for the weekend is to be among the fastest teams and fight for another podium.”
Thierry Neuville finished third in both Monte Carlo and Rally Sweden. In the World Cup standings he is also third and nine points behind Tänak and six points behind world champion Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota Yaris Rally1).
