The new Huawei Pura 70 series comes in four finishes, with the Pura 70 Ultra being the most impressive of them all. It shares the same core specifications as the Pura 70 Pro+, but features an exclusive vegan leather back and a more robust camera setup with a 1-inch main sensor, retractable lens, and variable aperture.
Huawei has incorporated a retractable mechanism for the 50MP main camera’s lens, which pops up when in use. The rotating telescopic lens has an intricate motorized structure that Huawei tested for 300,000 cycles of expansion and contraction.
The main shooter also features a variable f/1.6 – 4.0 lens with a 22.5mm focal length. Huawei introduced a new XD Motion engine to help handle fast-moving objects.
The second module on the back is a 50MP telephoto lens with a 90mm f/2.1 lens featuring OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. The telephoto camera also functions as a macro shooter, allowing you to get as close as 5cm from your subject with its 35x super macro mode. The ultra-wide shooter has a 40MP sensor with an equivalent focal length of 13mm.

AI is a prominent feature of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, with added AI photo cloud enhancement for photos and the option to remove subjects from shots and retouch images.
Other specifications include a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel boasts a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits, a 13MP front-facing camera, and a UD fingerprint scanner. It also features the latest Kunlun glass, similar to the Pura 70 Pro and Pro+.
The Pura 70 Ultra is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin 9010 chipset with an 8-core CPU – 1x 2.3 GHz + 3x 2.18 GHz + 4x 1.55 GHz. Rumors suggest it will be manufactured in China on a 7nm process, similar to the Kirin 9000s in the Mate 60 range.
Additionally, the Pura 70 Ultra offers dual satellite connectivity with Beidou and Tiantong support for messaging, images, and calls. The device is IP68 rated, has a 5,200mAh battery with 100W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 20W reverse charging. Software-wise, it runs HarmonyOS 4.2.
