Yesterday, a rumour circulated claiming that Google is preparing to launch a version of the Pixel tablet that will not include the charging speaker dock in the box. Today, a new rumour ‘confirms’ the previous one (as much as any rumour can ‘confirm’ anything) and also provides pricing information for the new dockless tablet.
Fortunately, the new tablet without the dock will cost less than the current bundle on sale. It is reported that in the Eurozone, the prices will be €446 for the 128GB storage version and €553 for the 256GB version.
For comparison, the current bundle including the dock is priced at €679 for the 128GB model and €779 for the 256GB model. However, the leaked prices appear to be without VAT, which varies across EU countries.
Adding the German VAT of 19%, the prices would be €529 for the 128GB model and €659 for the 256GB model. This still offers a significant discount for those who do not require the dock, so the official release is eagerly awaited.
According to the same unnamed retailers, a rumoured Bluetooth keyboard accessory was also listed at €89 in their system, though this may not be the final sale price. Adding VAT back for Germany would result in a final price of €105. The rumoured stylus is not listed, but the previous leak mentioned that it would be priced the same as the keyboard.
