The Frenchman suffered burns on both hands from the horror crash he made during the Bahrain GP last year. Grosjean’s Haas F1 car went straight through the crash barriers and then turned into a fireball.
Grosjean escaped death but was unable to compete in the last two races of his F1 career due to his injuries. This year Grosjean was at work in IndyCar where he will also race next year.
Currently the IndyCar season has ended and Grosjean is taking advantage of that to have a skin graft on his left hand, giving him plenty of time to recover for next season.
He underwent surgery on Tuesday and Grosjean took to social media to say that the surgery had been successful and that he had a ‘Mickey hand’ again. He refers to the white gloves of Mickey Mouse.

“The surgery went well,” he wrote. “I should be back home tomorrow afternoon after some checks. I can’t wait to share some photos of my new hand with you. Have a nice evening everyone.”
