There are more than 6,000 roundabouts in the tiny Netherlands. In absolute numbers, that is less than in the United States (about 7,000), but that country is 231 times as large. The first modern roundabouts were built in the United Kingdom in the 1960s. The Netherlands followed in the early 1980s. The United States as late as 1990.
First roundabout in Rowan County, Kentucky

It has recently replaced a dangerous intersection, but does not seem to be much safer for the time being. The attached drone video shows that drivers have no idea what to do with the roundabout.
Motorists turn left and right
Some motorists want to turn left and turn left on the left lane to the third exit (they are driving against the traffic). Others have to go straight ahead and also choose to turn left. In other words, it is chaos. Which makes us wonder if there are any road signs to help the dazed drivers.
