Because less headroom for the rear passengers in this case costs 2,600 euros more. Because even though the Renault Arkana is on the platform of the Renault Captur, you should actually compare it with the Renault Kadjar. The latter is available in the Netherlands from 29,790 euros. For an Arkana you spend at least 32,390 euros.
Renault Arkana with Russian and Korean roots
The model is not new, by the way. The Arkana has been on the market in Russia since 2019, where it stands on the platform of the Dacia Duster. The European version of the coupé-SUV has little to do with that car and is based on the Korean Renault Samsung XM3, which is technically related to the second generation Renault Captur.
Arkana is a lot bigger than the Renault Captur
But despite that, the Renault Arkana is a lot bigger than the Captur (34 centimeters longer, to be precise). It measures even more in length than the Kadjar. You can store 438 liters of stuff in the Arkana’s luggage compartment. That is clearly more than the Captur can carry with it (377 liters) and fractionally less than the Kadjar can stow (472 liters).
Only available as a 143 hp hybrid
The Arkana delivery program is very clear. It is only available as the E-Tech Hybrid 145, with a 143 hp hybrid powertrain with two electric motors. There are three trim levels: Zen (32,390 euros), Intense (34,590 euros) and RS Line (37,290 euros). The Renault Arkana will be available at Dutch dealers from July.
