A new agreement has been reached between Formula 1 and promoter ‘Projekt Spielberg’ to place the Austrian GP on the F1 calendar at least until 2027.
The current agreement to host an F1 race in Austria expired after this year’s race in July. However, a new agreement with Formula 1 has already been concluded so that the race on Red Bull Racing will remain on the F1 calendar until at least 2027.
In 2014, Formula 1 returned to the Styrian region for a race at the Red Bull Ring after a long absence. In recent years, the in the past ‘boring’ circuit has created a lot of atmosphere, especially thanks to the many thousands of Verstappen fans who provide an exuberant atmosphere.
In the coming years, the Dutch will also travel to the Red Bull Ring for the GP of Austria, with or without their caravan. Whether they will also be allowed to do the same for Spa-Francorchamps after 2023 is not yet known. The contract between promoter Spa Grand Prix and Formula 1 has been extended for just one year and expires this year.
