The analytical company Counterpoint has revealed the ranking of the best-selling smartphones in the world for the first quarter of 2024. In addition, analysts compared the statistics with similar indicators in 2023. Traditionally, the iPhone once again turned out to be beyond the reach of Android flagships, and models of only two brands settled in the top 10.
The best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2024 was the top-end iPhone 15 Pro Max with a share of 4.4% of all devices sold. The second place by a small margin is occupied by the basic iPhone 15 with an indicator of 4.3%, and the third is the iPhone 15 Pro with 3.7%.
The first Android smartphone on the list is only in fifth place – the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. It slotted under the iPhone 14 and became the most popular Android smartphone this year with a total market share of 1.9%. The second best seller was the Galaxy A15 5G with a result of 1.5%, and the third was the Galaxy A54 with 1.4%. Eighth place in the ranking is occupied by the iPhone 15 Plus (1.3%), while ninth and tenth are the Galaxy S24 (1%) and Galaxy A34 (1%), respectively.
Last year, the figures were almost the same, only the generation was replaced by a new one. There is an exception: the basic iPhone was the most popular, and the top-end iPhone was in second place. At the same time, the bestseller among Android gadgets was not the flagship, but the budget one.
