They did a brilliant job at Silverstone but the Mercedes F1 team is wary of the next race at the Hungaroring.

After all, the Hungaroring fits much better with the Red Bull F1 car and Mercedes therefore expects Red Bull to seriously hit back during the Hungarian GP.

“Silverstone is one of our best tracks,” said Andrew Shovlin of the Mercedes F1 team. “It would be naive of us to think that we would go to the Hungaroring and just continue our performance.”

In the past, Red Bull has performed particularly well on circuits where a lot of downforce was needed and the Hungaroring is one of the circuits par excellence where that is the case.

“Red Bull is performing particularly well on the high downforce circuit. To be honest they are very good on every track at the moment,” Shovlin looks back on the balance of power over the past races.

“After the British GP they have some bruises but I’m sure they will come back very strongly.”

“They are a team that is very hard to beat but we are also a strong team and we will do everything we can to try and win,” Shovlin concluded.
