Sony’s Xperia 1 VI will be officially unveiled next week on May 17, and as we approach that day, leaks are beginning to surface. It seems like there is a new leak almost every day at this point. We recently shared some leaked versions, followed by another batch shortly after that, and today we have – as you might expect – a few more versions.
Sony Xperia 1 VI Promo Images
These images appear to have been officially created by Sony for the Xperia 1 VI’s promotional campaign which will kick off once the phone is unveiled. One of the images confirms a rumor about the phone’s telephoto camera – it will have a range of 85mm to 170mm, compared to 85mm to 125mm in the Xperia 1 V.

It appears that the only camera that has received a hardware upgrade in the Xperia 1 VI is the telephoto camera, while the rest seem to be borrowed from its predecessor. Sony is rumored to be consolidating all of its camera apps into one, which could greatly improve usability even more than minor hardware upgrades.

One of the images also appears to confirm a previous rumor about buyers receiving access to some streaming movies by Sony Pictures. The images also reveal the presence of a 5,000mAh battery, as well as support for wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
The Sony Xperia 1 VI is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a slightly shorter and wider aspect ratio than the 1 V (rumored to be 19.5:9), and it may drop the 4K resolution of the screen while keeping the 120 Hz refresh rate (with 240 Hz touch sample rate). It is likely to run Android 14 from day one and come with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
