During qualifying for the Miami GP, Charles Leclerc said he was driving his Ferrari at the limit. Despite this, he was still 0.141 seconds slower than Max Verstappen and had to settle for second place on the starting grid.
“It felt so much at the limit,” Leclerc reflected on his qualifying in the parc fermé. “Q3 was obviously very close until the last two sectors. Then we started pushing for that extra one or two tenths and we started losing the tires because they were overheating.”
“Sector one felt very good but then we lost too much in the second and third sectors. That’s where we lost some time today.”
“However, the race tomorrow is very long. We showed good speed during the sprint race and I hope we can put some more pressure on Max again during the race.”
