We are excited to share with you the international launch of Huawei’s Pura 70 series, which was first introduced in China in April. The sleek design and impressive features of these devices are now available to users worldwide, although some vibrant color options are still exclusive to China.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen and explore all four devices in the Pura 70 series. While we’ve previously covered the Pura 70 Ultra, Pura 70 Pro, and Pro+, we are thrilled to share our hands-on review of the standard Huawei Pura 70.
The Huawei Pura 70 features a 6.6″ LTPO OLED display that provides a compact feel when held. With a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,500 nits peak brightness, this phone ensures an exceptional viewing experience.
With a single 13 MP f/2.4 selfie camera housed in a punch hole, Huawei has opted for simplicity, believing that one camera best serves users.
We were impressed by the compact and stylish design of the Huawei Pura 70. Its flat frame sets it apart from the rest of the series. While the handling is comfortable, slightly more curved edges would have been preferable.
The front is protected by second-gen Kunlun Glass, which is Basalt-hardened and said to be 100% more durable than previous flagship models. Huawei’s optimization of the manufacturing process, along with the use of new materials, has contributed to this improvement.
The back panel features the iconic triangular camera island, symbolizing Huawei’s continued progress. While the camera setup is similar to the Huawei P60, this time there is a new 50 MP sensor onboard.
We were able to experience the striking Rose Red color option firsthand. However, this vibrant choice is exclusive to the Chinese market, disappointing fans of bold colors internationally.
As mentioned in our hands-on review of the Pro and Pro+ models, the software on the Pura 70 devices remains consistent with EMUI 14.2. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather during our visit to Huawei headquarters, we were unable to take photos outside the conference room.
Internationally, the Huawei Pura 70 comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While the price in China starts at CNY5,499 (approximately €710), taxes and tariffs increase the European price to €999, with the device available in White or Black color options. Pre-orders are now open, and sales are set to commence on May 22.
