At the end of last year, Guenther Steiner was told that his contract with the Haas F1 team would not be extended. However, Steiner is now taking legal action against the Haas F1 team.
It is ‘CourtHouseNews’ that reports that documents from the Charlotte court in the State of North Carolina show that Guenther Steiner is filing a lawsuit because he should still receive money from the Haas F1 team for the period 2021-2023. Steiner also believes that Haas has unlawfully used his name and personality through merchandising and other advertising.
In this way, the Haas F1 team would have wanted to benefit from the enormous popularity that Guenther Steiner managed to acquire thanks to the Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’. Through that series, Guenther Steiner became possibly even the most famous and most popular team boss in Formula 1.
Guenther Steiner is said to have received part of the funds to which he claims he is entitled in January of this year, but according to him, some has been omitted. The lawsuit reportedly alleges breach of contract, violation of North Carolina wage laws and unauthorized use of Guenther Steiner’s name and personality.
