Blackview has announced the upcoming release of the Blackview Hero 10, which will be the world’s most affordable foldable device. Although the official launch is scheduled for May, the phone has already made an appearance on AliExpress, showcasing its specifications and images. However, the expected price has not been confirmed yet.
The Hero 10 is anticipated to be priced at €400 (approximately $425/₹36,000), significantly undercutting the current cheapest foldable, the nubia Flip, which debuted at $600 at the Mobile World Congress. With this competitive pricing in mind, let’s delve into its hardware specifications.
The Blackview Hero 10 boasts a 6.9” AMOLED screen with 1,080 x 2,560 px resolution and supports 10-bit colors. It offers a peak brightness of 1,300 nits with 1,920 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. When opened, the phone measures 169.0 x 75.7 x 8.1mm and weighs 198g. The display features a water drop hinge and is rated for 250,000 folds, with the hinge capable of holding it partially open at 30° and 150° angles.

The phone comes equipped with an innovative circular cover display next to the dual camera setup. The main camera features a 108 MP sensor (the 1/1.67” Samsung ISOCELL HM6), accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens (120°), while the selfie camera boasts a 32 MP sensor.

While the chipset – a Helio G99 – may not be the most powerful, the Hero 10 compensates with ample memory (12GB, LPDDR4X) and storage (256GB, UV 2.2). However, the chipset only supports 4G connectivity.
The Blackview Hero 10 offers a promising feature with 3 years of software updates, although it is unclear whether these updates will include full OS upgrades. The phone is expected to launch with DokeOS 4.0 based on Android 13, with an update to Android 14 later this year.

Despite the less than ideal chipset choice, the Blackview Hero 10 shines in other aspects. It is equipped with a sizable 4,000 mAh battery (considered large for a foldable device) supporting fast 45 W charging, which can reach 48% in just 20 minutes. Additionally, the phone offers stereo speakers, NFC, and a dual-SIM slot.
The phone’s aluminum frame is accented with vegan leather, available in Sakura Purple and Eclipse Black options.
