The rider of the Dutch Olie Fieten Racing GP started thirteenth after the qualifications. He rode around fifteenth place for the entire race, but fifteen laps from the end the 19-year-old lost control. It was the first time in four World Cup rounds this season that he did not reach the finish line.
The victory on the circuit in Jérez de la Frontera, Andalusia, went to Spaniard Fermin Aldeguer (Team SpeedUp). He took his first victory of the season ahead of the American Joe Roberts (American Racing), the new leader in the World Championship standings.
