Sony’s Xperia 1 VI will be officially announced on May 17, and as we approach that date, the number of leaks surrounding it continues to grow. Just under a day ago, images of the phone’s camera island surfaced, suggesting larger camera modules compared to the Xperia 1 V, directly contradicting a previous rumor.
Most rumors thus far suggest that the phone will no longer feature a 4K display and will have a slightly more traditional aspect ratio. One piece of information that hasn’t been discussed yet is the price, but today we have an idea of what to expect in that regard. In Taiwan, the phone is rumored to be priced slightly lower than its predecessor, at TWD 39,900 (£980 or €1,143) instead of TWD 41,990 (£1,199 or €1,204).

While the price reduction may not be significant, if this rumor holds true for the Xperia 1 VI’s price in Taiwan, it remains uncertain if similar price adjustments will occur in other regions. It is possible that this pricing is specific to Taiwan. Nonetheless, it is reassuring that the rumored price is not significantly higher than last year’s Xperia 1 V.
