Our compatriot Stoffel Vandoorne finished third on the podium during the E-Prix in Monaco. Mitch Evans won the eventful race while teammate Nick Cassidy ensured Jaguar achieved a double victory in the Principality.
There was particularly fierce fighting in the streets of Monaco, which led to many incidents. Sébastien Buemi was driven into the hairpin in the wall by Sette Camara, while the Dutch Robin Frijns and Nyck de Vries also suffered damage early in the race. There is clearly no shortage of incidents.
Edoardo Mortara crashed his Mahindra car near the swimming pool. Fortunately, Mortara was able to get out of his car without serious injuries. However, due to his crash, there was a lot of debris on the circuit and the TecPro barriers also had to be repaired. However, instead of a red flag we were given a lengthy safety car period.
Our compatriot Stoffel Vandoorne was in the lead, but when he took his ‘attack mode’ the two Jaguar drivers passed him. The team game was then played and Nick Cassidy held off the rest of the driver field so that teammate Mitch Evans could take a lead. Jake Dennis, in turn, had lost the nose of his car due to an incident with Robin Frijns in the tunnel.
Mitch Evans ultimately rode unthreatened to victory, ahead of teammate Nick Cassidy. A double victory for Jaguar, followed by the driving duo of DS Penske, with our compatriot Stoffel Vandoorne managing to secure the final podium place, ahead of teammate Jean-Éric Vergne.
