Non-invasive blood glucose monitoring is set to revolutionize the way users track their blood sugar levels, and a recent report from South Korea has hinted that Samsung might be the first to incorporate this feature into its upcoming smartwatches.
According to the report, Hon Pak, who holds the position of Senior Vice President at Samsung Electronics and oversees digital healthcare initiatives, recently met with members of Samsung Health’s advisory board at the company’s Medical Center in Seoul. The meeting was focused on discussing the progress of blood sugar monitoring technology and how it could be integrated into wearable devices.
Aside from blood sugar monitoring, the discussions at the meeting also touched on other healthcare-related topics, such as the use of AI in health monitoring, advancements in detecting cardiac arrhythmia, and improvements in hypertension detection. However, specific details about how the blood sugar monitoring feature would operate were not disclosed in the report.
The upcoming Galaxy Watch7 series is expected to be unveiled on July 10, alongside other highly anticipated devices like the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Fold6, and Flip6. The new smartwatches are rumored to be equipped with the latest Exynos W940 chipset, which promises to be 50% more efficient than its predecessor and offer an impressive 32GB of storage capacity.
