Following the recent announcements, Moondrop has now revealed all the remaining details of its upcoming audio-focused phone, the MIAD 01, including pricing and availability.
Starting with the specs, the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050, a mid-range chipset with an octa-core CPU design and Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The phone will come with 12GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UV 3.1 storage, and support microSD storage expansion up to 2TB.
The device sports a dual-camera system on the back with a primary 64MP shooter. The second camera is not specified, likely a depth sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP camera.
The MIAD 01 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery with 33W USB-PD charging and supports 5 Gbps USB 3.1 connectivity. The phone is 9.15mm thin and weighs 202g.
The 6.7-inch 1080p curved OLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate and 1920Hz PWM dimming.
In terms of software, Moondrop assures a pure stock Android operating system free of data collection or ads.
On the audio side, the phone offers dual headphone jacks – a 4.4mm balanced and a 3.5mm single output. Driven by flagship four-channel dual Cirrus Logic MasterHIFI DACs, the sound quality is impressive with a dynamic range of 132 dB and SINAD of 118 dB.
Audio specifications
The audio circuit features a 6-layer gold-sinking design and an independent LDO power supply. The device also offers a 100-level hardware-level DAC volume control and the Moondrop Audio Center app with DSP functionality.
As for the price, the Moondrop MIAD 01 is priced at 2499 RMB, approximately £280. Surprisingly, this is lower than expected and even cheaper than the company’s mechanical keyboard. The phone will be available in China starting April 25, with international availability yet to be announced.
