A small, but very nice update is rolling out for Google Calendar. This improvement means less scrolling and the ability to schedule appointments months in advance.
Update brings more overview to Google Calendar
There are only a handful of apps in the Play Store with billions of downloads, and Google Calendar is one of them. This is not surprising since the convenient calendar app comes pre-installed on tens of millions of devices. It’s great because you can import multiple calendars like work, family, or important sports schedules.
There are several ways to keep track of your appointments. You can choose an overview for the day, three days, the week, or the month. Now, a small update allows for faster navigation to specific months. This makes it easier to check your schedule at a glance and see available time slots.
Previously, tapping on the month name at the top of Google Calendar showed a monthly overview of all days, weekdays, and possibly week numbers. Planning appointments several months in advance or checking availability for a certain day required scrolling multiple times to the right.
Much faster navigation between months
Now, this scrolling is no longer necessary thanks to a nice adjustment by Google. Monthly tabs have been added below the day overview. For example, if it’s April and you want to check October’s schedule, you can simply tap on the correct tab without scrolling.
You can easily skip forward six months using the tabs or scroll quickly through the horizontal bar to view appointments even further into the future. Similarly, you can quickly navigate back to previous months to review past events in your calendar.
Overall, this update is a minor tweak to an already great calendar app. Despite the numerous alternatives in the Play Store, Google Calendar remains a popular choice.
