Halfway through the first day of competition of the Rally of Croatia, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20) is in the lead. The Belgian has a lead of 8.6 over his first pursuer, the Welshman Elfyn Evans (Toyota Yaris). The Frenchman Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Yaris) follows third at 21.5.
Thierry Neuville left on Friday morning with a knife between his teeth and drove the competition to pieces. Evans was 6.6 slower and was able to limit the damage somewhat. Ogier was awarded 14.5. The Estonian Ott Tänak (Hyundai i20) followed at 17.8 and the Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (Ford Puma1) at 20.4.

Evans took charge of the second stage, after which Neuville was again the fastest in the third and fourth stages. However, the Liège resident was not completely satisfied with his morning. “I can't really attack. I always have to drive very cleanly. If I push, it won't work. I'd like to drive faster, but it is what it is. The circumstances are quite difficult. I try to be as careful as possible. If the feeling is not good, then it is difficult.”
Grégoire Munster (Ford Puma) is eighth after the first loop of four special stages at 1:57:3. “The starting position is really crazy. I have never experienced this on asphalt. At a Rally1 you can really see the difference between the first and eighth car. I still have a lot to learn,” Munster said at the finish of the fourth stage.
The same rides will be held on Friday afternoon as in the morning, albeit in a different order. They promise to be intense, because images show that it snowed last night in Croatia.
