Immediately after the announcement that Lewis Hamilton will race for Ferrari in 2025 and Carlos Sainz will have to make way for Ferrari, speculation about Sainz’s future began. The ‘silly season’ is now in full swing and Sainz has been linked to Mercedes and Red Bull, among others, in recent weeks. However, there is also Audi and according to Helmut Marko, Audi has made Carlos Sainz an offer that they cannot match or surpass at Red Bull.
“We are talking to him, he is having one of his strongest seasons in F1 but he has already received a lucrative offer from Audi that we cannot match or surpass,” Helmut Marko told the Austrian ‘Kleine Zeitung’. “But we know him from his time at Toro Rosso, even when he drove with Max. But it hurt him a lot that we let Verstappen make the switch to Red Bull and not him.”
