Thin and fanless – these are the main takeaways from the images of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14 2024 Snapdragon Edition. This laptop will be powered by the Snapdragon X Elite, as the name suggests.
Okay, we don’t actually know if it will be fanless like the leaked images (posted by X-user WalkingCat) since they came with no specifications attached. However, they offer a good look from all sides and we don’t see any vents.

All we know is that it will have a 14.5” display, similar to the other Yoga Slim 7 14 models. Battery capacity and endurance are unknown, but Qualcomm is making big promises about efficiency – it says its chipset can match an Intel 13 gen CPU while using 68% less power.
Anyway, you can see the Microsoft Copilot featured in a few of the images. Microsoft requires 16 GB of RAM and 40 TOPS of processing power to certify a computer as an “AI PC”. The Hexagon NPU inside Snapdragon X Elite can deliver 45 TOPS, so it should qualify. However, AMD’s Ryzen Pro 8000 series won’t, as even the desktop variants top out at 39 TOPS (and mobile only gets 16 TOPS).

The powerful NPU will allow the laptop to perform a variety of AI tasks locally, instead of relying on the cloud. If AI is a key selling point, it’s better to have it locally than in the cloud.
Samsung is also working on a 14” laptop with the Snapdragon X Elite, rumored to be called the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge. Other brands are also following suit, Microsoft itself will launch Snapdragon-powered Surface tablets and laptops.
