After a challenging start to the season, Daniel Ricciardo is focused on improving his performance before considering a return to Red Bull Racing.
“I’ve been in this sport for 14 years and they say ‘you learn something every time’,” Daniel Ricciardo shared in an interview with the official F1 website. “And I think, ‘well, I’m not a rookie,’ but it’s true. It’s a sad truth that you are always learning.”
“I refer to it as a ‘sad truth’, but it also adds excitement to the sport, the constant quest for improvement and discovery. It’s an ongoing opportunity that keeps things interesting.”
“Would I have preferred not to be learning so much at this stage of the season? Not really. But it’s all part of the process.”
“It’s not as if we’re facing insurmountable challenges and are stuck in a deep, dark hole. Not at all. The race in Japan was short, but it showed promise. Now it’s about capitalizing on that. Am I apprehensive or doubting my abilities? Absolutely not. I’m confident and ready.”
Following his comeback last year, Daniel Ricciardo had hoped to impress and potentially secure a seat at Red Bull Racing this season. However, he acknowledges that he must elevate his performance before contemplating a move to the prestigious team.
“Even though there’s talk about a possible shift, I prefer not to dwell on it at the moment because I need to focus on getting my season back on track first,” Ricciardo explained. “I need to prove myself again before considering any future opportunities.”
“However, being part of the Red Bull family, they are aware of my capabilities, which is reassuring. So, yes, I aim to reverse the current situation, but I don’t feel an overwhelming pressure on my shoulders.”
