Lewis Hamilton is looking forward to the changes that Liberty Media will bring to MotoGP and the exciting possibility of a partnership between MotoGP and Formula 1.
During an interview with Autosport in Suzuka, Hamilton expressed his enthusiasm for the concept of joint races featuring both Formula 1 and MotoGP. He playfully mentioned that if such races were to happen, he would love the opportunity to compete in both series over the same weekend.
Hamilton has already dabbled in the world of motorcycling, having swapped vehicles with legendary MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi at the Valencia circuit towards the end of the 2019 season. As a seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Hamilton has also indulged in track days and has a penchant for motorcycles, often favoring those from the MV Agusta brand.
The head of the Circuit of the Americas, Bobby Epstein, recently revealed his interest in organizing an event that would feature a crossover between motorcycles and cars. He suggested starting with smaller motorcycle categories before potentially moving on to incorporate the top-tier competitions. However, Epstein acknowledged that it might take several years before such an event could come to fruition. This timeline could pose a challenge for Hamilton, who will be in his forties when he embarks on his forthcoming multi-year contract with Ferrari in 2025.
