Oppo’s long-standing A series of mid-range smartphones is soon welcoming a new member – the Oppo A60. The name suggests that it will succeed the A59, released in December last year. However, there’s a twist – the A59 supports 5G, while the A60 does not. This indicates that it’s more likely to be the successor to the A58 4G launched in July 2023.
The A60 was spotted in the Google Play Console, revealing some of its specs, with the most important being that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 SoC, lacking 5G capability. In contrast, the A58 4G opted for the MediaTek Helio G85.
The chipset will be paired with 8GB of RAM in the A60, while its screen will feature a 720×1604 resolution, slightly lower than the A58 4G. The new device will run Android 14 with ColorOS 14 from its launch.
A recent TUV Rheinland certification revealed that the A60 will sport a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging support. Additionally, a Camera FV 5 listing indicates a 50 MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 8 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
These are the details available currently, but more updates on the Oppo A60 are expected in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned for more information.
