Every autumn, Xiaomi unveils a few new “T” models – high-end devices that are not quite the top of the line, but close. Last year, we saw the 13T and 13T Pro, and this year, we can expect the 14T and 14T Pro to follow suit.
Today, a new leak has emerged providing us with some details about these upcoming devices. Let’s start with the Pro model. It is said to be based on the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra for the Chinese market, but it won’t just be a rebrand. The 14T Pro will come with several upgrades compared to its source model.
Xiaomi 13T Pro and 13T from 2023
Both devices will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, but the 14T Pro will come with wireless charging and a telephoto camera on the back for the first time in the T series – features that are not present in the K70 Ultra (which will have a macro camera instead of a telephoto one). Additionally, the 14T Pro will feature Leica co-branding, similar to its predecessor, while its Redmi counterpart will skip this to keep costs down.
The Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro will be released in Europe, Japan, and other markets, excluding India. This distribution strategy has been consistent for the T series. In Japan, Softbank will be hosting these two models.
The Xiaomi 14T is expected to come with a Dimensity 8000 series SoC, following the footsteps of the 13T. The main difference between it and the 13T Pro is the charging speed – the Pro supported 120W while the standard model settled for 67W. A similar trend may continue this year, with the 14T possibly skipping wireless charging to make the Pro model stand out more.
