Vivo’s X100 Pro is already a fantastic camera phone, one of the best launched in recent months. However, this is not enough for the Chinese company – it aims to push the envelope even further. According to their vice president of product, Huang Tao, Vivo is currently working on a new smartphone that will be “a professional camera that can make calls” (quote machine translated from Chinese).
This upcoming device will likely be named X100 Ultra and is currently generating a lot of buzz on Weibo under the code name Thanos. The Vivo executive took to the Chinese social network to express gratitude for the immense interest in the upcoming smartphone, announcing that the X100 Ultra will be released sometime soon – rumors suggest next month.
If the concept behind this device is indeed to create a “professional camera” with a smartphone integration, we are intrigued and excited to witness and experience it first-hand. Vivo has already demonstrated its capability to produce excellent camera phones, and if this device represents the pinnacle of their achievements, we are all eagerly anticipating it.
The X100 Ultra is rumored to feature a Quad HD+ E7 AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powering it, a 50 MP main camera using Sony’s Lytia LYT-900 sensor, along with ultra-wide, telephoto, and an additional 200 MP periscope telephoto with 100mm equivalent focal length for 4.3x optical zoom, and 200x digital zoom.
