Google’s upcoming Pixel 8a has been leaking a lot lately. Recently, we shared a spec sheet for it a few days ago, shortly after another one was released. Last week, Google may have even shown us the Pixel 8a in an ad for its carrier in the US.
Today, new images of the phone have leaked, showing both the back and front of the colorway that will likely be called Obsidian (since that’s what Google likes to call black these days).

The rear shot is pretty much as expected: there’s the camera ‘visor’ that spans from one side of the frame to the other, with two sensors and a circular LED flash array, minimal G branding, and not much else.
On the front, the screen bezels are really the focal point, as they appear quite large – especially the chin – for this price point. Nevertheless, Google will likely receive praise for its software and camera quality. Compared to the Pixel 7a, which this model will replace, the bezels aren’t that significant – it’s just that some competitors of the Pixel 8a in Europe and Asia have much smaller ones.
Regarding comparisons with its predecessor, the corners are definitely more rounded this time around. In addition to the Obsidian color shown here, the Pixel 8a will also come in Porcelain (White) and Bay (Blue). It should be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chipset and feature a 6.1-inch 120 Hz OLED display, 128/256 GB of storage, a 64 MP main camera with OIS, a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, a 13 MP selfie camera, and a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging.
