During the second practice session, Max Verstappen did not set a lap time, but he was the fastest during the first practice session. Verstappen therefore speaks of a good start to the race weekend.
Unlike in Australia, Max Verstappen and Red Bull had a good start to the race weekend in Japan with competitive lap times. Verstappen did not take action during the second practice session, but hardly any laps were driven by the other drivers anyway.
“It was a good start for us,” Verstappen said, looking back on Friday in Japan, according to his official website. “The balance wasn’t bad and that’s always a good way to start. It seems like everyone is a little closer together compared to last year.”
“We couldn’t do anything in the second free practice, but there are still a few things we have to look at and try out. In general I am quite satisfied with the first free practice.”
