Sebastian Vettel could make a sensational comeback in Formula 1. The 36-year-old German and four-time world champion had discussions with Toto Wolff, the Mercedes team boss, some time ago.

“I am indeed talking to Toto, but it is about other things,” the German told Sky Sports News. “Of course I sometimes think about returning, but it certainly doesn't cross my mind. I'm busy at home with my three children, so I often think about other things. I also spoke to many other team bosses and not just about racing. I have some ideas, but nothing concrete at the moment.”
The four-time world champion (2010-2013) could well become the replacement for Lewis Hamilton at the Silver Arrows. The seven-time world champion announced a few weeks ago that he will make the high-profile switch to major competitor Ferrari after this season. “I was surprised by the news, like most of us. He is clearly looking for a new challenge and it will be different to see him in the red of Ferrari.”
Vettel, who in addition to Ferrari also worked for Aston Martin and Red Bull during his F1 career, also thought about possibly participating in endurance races. He was also allowed to test the Porsche, which will race around the Le Mans circuit in the 24 Hours in June. “I do not know yet. I tested the car because I was curious. I wanted to see what it felt like and it's obviously a different discipline. It's still racing, but it's a completely different car. On the one hand I am tempted, on the other hand I am not. Of course I'm also looking for a lot of other things, things that have nothing to do with racing.”
