Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota Yaris) is still the leader in the Safari Rally, the third round of the world championship, even after the third day of competition. The Finn is 2:08.9 ahead of the Japanese Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota Yaris). The Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (Ford Puma) is third at 3:13.3. World Cup leader Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20) dropped from second to fifth place after a technical problem and now follows at 11:48.6.

After an excellent morning, in which Neuville had moved up to second place, he experienced nothing but bad luck on Saturday afternoon. In the first afternoon stage, the Belgian stopped several times and lost 2:38.7, probably due to a problem with the fuel pump. “I have nothing to say, absolutely nothing to say,” Neuville sounded angry at the finish. The Liège resident tried to solve the problem, but was unsuccessful.
In the next stage he lost another seven minutes. In the last stage of the day he managed to limit the time loss to one minute. Neuville scored eight World Cup points on Saturday, which is two fewer than Welshman Elfyn Evans (Toyota Yaris), who occupies fourth place in Kenya at 5:35.6. In the World Cup standings, Evans came within one point of Neuville.
Rovanperä starts a final series of six stages on Sunday as the authoritarian leader. Two years after his first victory in Kenya, he can put his name on the honors list for a second time.
