Samsung’s Care+ protection plans in the UK will introduce unlimited battery repairs beginning in May. This addition will be reflected in the benefits of both Care+ and Care+ with theft and loss levels.
There are two important points to note with this new feature. First of all, the monthly fee for both plans will increase by £2. Secondly, in order to be eligible for a battery repair, your device’s battery health must be at 79% or lower, as indicated by a diagnostic test, and there should be no additional damage to the covered device. Samsung mentioned in a notice sent to current plan subscribers that this repair option will be available through both walk-in and mail-in services.
The monthly cost of Samsung Care+ and Samsung Care+ with theft and loss varies depending on the device, ranging from approximately £6 to £13 per month with a three-year contract. With the upcoming change in May, these prices will increase to around £8 to £15 per month.
Care+ includes coverage for unlimited repairs, drops, spills, mechanical breakdown after the first year, and £25 screen repair. It also offers next-business-day replacements, 24/7 expert support, convenient mail-in repair and replacement, and ensures the use of genuine Samsung parts by Samsung-certified technicians.
Similarly, as implied by its name, Care+ with Theft and Loss offers additional coverage for theft and loss of your device for an extra fee. This coverage is available for phones, tablets, and watches, whereas the ‘vanilla’ Care+ plan is also compatible with Samsung computers and true wireless earbuds.
