The Pixel 9 has appeared in a new set of CAD-based renders that suggest Google is taking a different approach to its phone launch schedule. Previously, we saw two sets of versions in January, which are now known as the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The new images show the same basic design as the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, with a flat metal frame and a revised camera island that now has an oval shape without curving into the frame like the bezels on the previous two generations of Pixels.

The source claims that the Pixel 9 will offer a 6.03-inch display (presumably 120Hz OLED), compared to the 6.1-inch Pixel 9 Pro and 6.5-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL. The vanilla Pixel 9’s dimensions are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm. Another key difference on the vanilla Pixel 9 is the dual camera setup, compared to the three shooters on both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

It seems that Google may be taking a new approach with the Pixel 9 series by launching three device models at the same time. It remains to be seen how Google will price its upcoming devices and whether the vanilla Pixel 9 will replace the Pixel A series of phones. We should have a clearer picture in the coming months, judging by previous leaks of the Pixel series. The official launch is likely to happen sometime in October when Google usually unveils its flagships.
