Vivo has recently launched a new smartphone, the V40 SE 5G, designed specifically for the European market. This device falls within the lower-mid-range category and is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.
The V40 SE 5G comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UV 2.2 storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB using microSD cards. The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP f/1.8 main shooter, an 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera, while the front camera is a 16 MP f/2.0 snapper.
The phone features a 6.67-inch 1080×2400 120 Hz AMOLED touchscreen display with 1,800-nit peak brightness (1,200 nits in High Brightness mode). It also includes a built-in optical fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast 44W charging (charger not included in the box).
The V40 SE 5G runs on Android 14 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 on top. It will be available in two color options: Crystal Black and Leather Purple, with the Leather Purple variant featuring a faux leather finish. The dimensions vary slightly between the two color options, with the Crystal Black version measuring 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm and the Leather Purple version measuring 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm Weight also differs, with the Crystal Black version weighing 185.5 g and the Leather Purple version weighing 191 g.

The V40 SE 5G is currently listed on both vivo’s pan-European website and its local Austrian website, indicating that it will likely be available in other European countries soon. As of now, pricing information has not been disclosed.
