Samsung’s foldable smartphones are renowned for their slower charging speeds compared to other devices on the market. This trend looks set to continue with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, both of which have recently received 3C certification with a 25W charger.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F9560) and Galaxy Z Flip6 (SM-F7410) are listed on the 3C website with the EP-TA800 charger, which supports up to 25W charging. This is in line with previous models such as the Galaxy Z Fold5, Flip5, and the upcoming Galaxy S24 series (S24+ and S24 Ultra, which can reach speeds of up to 45W).
While the 3C listing does confirm a 25W charger for both foldable devices, it does not necessarily mean that this will be the maximum charging speed supported. Samsung has traditionally taken a cautious approach to charging speeds, so it is unlikely that these phones will support speeds of 45W or higher.
Despite the potential lack of faster charging speeds, it is expected that the Galaxy Z Flip6 will feature a larger battery capacity compared to its predecessor, with 4,000 mAh compared to 3,700 mAh.
