The better, faster, stronger – and thinner and lighter vivo X Fold3 series has arrived in the UK. This new series brings significant improvements to the design, camera, and battery compared to the previous model, the vivo X Fold2. And there are both vanilla and Pro models in this series.
Weighing just 219g, the vivo X Fold3 is the lightest horizontal inward folding phone available in the market. It outshines other popular bar phones like the iPhone 15 Pro Max (221g) and the Galaxy S24 Ultra (232g), as well as foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold5 (253g). The Honor V Wallet is lighter at 214g but folds outwards and lacks a second screen. The X Fold2, on the other hand, was quite hefty at 279g and 12.9mm when folded, while the X Fold3 has reduced it to 10.2 mm.
Both the vanilla and Pro models of the X Fold3 series feature the same set of screens. The inner panel is 8.03 inches diagonal with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 px and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Samsung E7 material used in these screens can achieve up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness. The cover screen is 6.53” with 1,172 x 2,748 px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, utilizing the Q9 Plus material that also supports up to 4,500 nits. These screens mark a significant improvement over the X Fold2 screens that had brightness levels of 1,800 nits and 1,600 nits.
