As we work on the complete review of the Honor Pad 9, we wanted to share with you the results of our battery tests and benchmark scores.
The tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, driving the pixels on a 12.1-inch, 1600 x 2560px IPS LCD panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. With an 8,300 mAh battery, the tablet has long-lasting power, although our tests show it struggles to keep it running for an extended period.
The Honor Pad 9 provided only 9:18h of active usage, which is notably lower than its competitors. The only tablet falling short of the Honor Pad 9 is the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2.
Honor Pad 9 Battery Life
There isn’t just one test result to blame for the lower battery performance. The tablet underperformed in various tests, including web browsing, video playback, and gaming. Call time was decent but still not as satisfactory.
A closer look at the benchmark scores may explain the higher power consumption. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 offers above-average performance for its price range. It scores well in CPU benchmarks as well as in combined and GPU-heavy tasks. Only the Xiaomi Pad 6 with Snapdragon 870 surpasses the SD6 Gen 1, but at a costlier price point.
