Chinese Huawei has a wide range of smartphones, many of which have only been launched in its home country. Huawei has now announced the Nova 12i, 12s, and 12SE, which will also be released outside of China. This includes two older devices that have been given a new look and a completely new smartphone.
These are the Huawei Nova 12i, 12s, and 12SE
Huawei Nova 12i
The Huawei Nova 12i is brand new, featuring a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth images. The phone runs on a Snapdragon 680 chip that has been around for several years. Unfortunately, it does not support 5G for fast mobile internet, but it can run apps well.
It comes with 8GB of RAM and three memory variants with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage space. The 5000 mAh battery lasts all day and charges with 40 watts, reaching more than half full within half an hour. On the back, there is a 108-megapixel main camera and an extra depth sensor.
The smartphone features a fingerprint scanner in the power button, and a fast charger is included in the box. You can choose from two colors: green and black.
Huawei Nova 12s
The Nova 12s is based on the Nova 11 that appeared in China a year ago, but with an extra striking blue color. It is also available in white and black, running on a Snapdragon 778 chip, making it fast enough for daily activities during normal use.
Its 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate contains a selfie camera with a remarkably high resolution of 60 megapixels. The main camera on the back takes snapshots in 50 megapixels, and there is an extra wide-angle lens of 8 megapixels.
With 256GB of storage space and a 4500 mAh battery, it charges up to 66 watts, fully charging within 30 minutes.
Huawei Nova 12SE
The Nova 12 SE is a renamed Nova 11 SE, launched last year. This phone also has a Snapdragon 680 chip, suitable for light users. It has a 6.67-inch OLED screen and three cameras on the back: a 108-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and 2-megapixel macro camera.
The Huawei Nova 12 SE also lasts all day thanks to the 5000 mAh battery, which charges at 66 watts. The smartphone has 8GB of RAM, and you can choose from 128GB or 256GB of storage space available in green, white, and black.
Huawei smartphones do not have access to Google apps and services by default and therefore run on Huawei’s own Harmony OS. Additionally, Huawei has not released the prices of the new smartphones yet, as it varies by country where the phones are launched. It is unknown if and when the Novas will be available in the United Kingdom.
