Following new allegations in the ‘Christian Horner case’, the FIA has responded to the new developments. The FIA comments that they cannot comment much. You read that right…
It is the British ‘BBC’ that provoked a new response from the FIA with its reporting. According to the BBC, the woman who filed a complaint against Christian Horner also went to the FIA ethics committee. The whistleblower who brought the whole matter to light is also said to have done so in February and March of this year.
Both the whistleblower and the woman are said to have filed an official complaint and given the reports about this, the FIA was forced to issue a statement.
“At the FIA, questions and complaints are received and handled by the ‘Compliance Officer’ and, if applicable, also by the ‘Ethics Committee’,” said an FIA statement. “Both bodies act independently of each other and guarantee strict confidentiality throughout the process.”
“As a result, and generally speaking, we cannot confirm receipt of any specific complaint and are unlikely to be able to comment further on complaints received from any party.”
