Samsung is rumored to hold its second Unpacked event of the year in early July. The event is expected to showcase the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, along with the Galaxy Ring.
This report comes from Sammobile, a reliable source that suggests the event will likely take place on July 10, a Wednesday – a day Samsung traditionally chooses for its Unpacked announcements.
Further supporting this speculation is Samsung’s trend of releasing its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip phones earlier each year – the fourth generation debuted in late August, while the fifth generation launched in early August.
The timing of July 10 is significant as it precedes the Olympics, scheduled to begin on July 26. As a major sponsor of the 2024 Olympic Games, Samsung aims to make a splash at the opening.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 with refined designs (Fold6 rendered here, Z Flip6 rendered here). Both models are speculated to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets.
Rumors also suggest the possibility of a separate Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra model, rumored to share the 200MP camera of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Ring, showcased for the first time at the Mobile World Congress this week, will likely replace the Galaxy Watch series next to the new foldable devices. Samsung’s plans for the Galaxy Watch7 remain unclear, but with no rumors or leaks, its release might be postponed to later in the year.
