The test days are over, it’s time for the real work this week. The Formula 1 season opens this Saturday with the Grand Prix in Bahrain. That is why the Play Sports podcast The Paddock looks ahead to this race weekend. As usual, host Dennis Xhaët receives racing driver Sam Dejonghe. They are accompanied by commentator Kris Wauters.
Make no mistake: not traditionally on Sunday, but on Saturday the engines will be started for the Bahrain GP. The reason? Ramadan, the Islamic fasting period, starts on Sunday, March 10. The day on which the second Grand Prix would normally be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but that is not an option there.
Because there must be a week between two races, the first two heats have both been moved forward one day.
This Saturday at 4 p.m. you can follow the match live in our live blog or on Play Sports.
