Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20) finished the second day of the Monte-Carlo in third place. Neuville won three stages, but also lost time on Friday morning with a spin and its consequences.
Neuville battles with Sébastien Ogier (of whom there are on-board camera images below) and Elfyn Evans for the overall victory.

On Friday afternoon, Neuville showed his speed, but he was not so happy with the morning stages. “I am partly satisfied. The afternoon was good. Despite the fastest time this morning, I am not satisfied with my morning. We had that spin where the steering buckled and I lost some time. And then there was that one ride where he lashed out. We actually lost a lot of time today, but we are still in contention for the win. Hopefully everything will go perfectly tomorrow and we can get closer to the others,” said Neuville in the media zone in Gap.
Grégoire Munster (Ford Puma) is seventh in the standings and, despite a slip on Friday morning, looked back on his working day with satisfaction. “All in all it was a good day. We were a few times faster than Mikkelsen and were not too far away from the times of my teammate Fourmaux, who has much more experience. Without that mistake we would now be sixth. But that mistake is part of the learning process I’m going through now. I am very happy to be at the finish line.”
