Today, the global debut of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R has taken place. OnePlus has emphasized the OnePlus 12’s massive internal cooling system, and a new teardown video reveals just how substantial it truly is.
Before delving into that, we need to first open the phone, which is done from the back using a heat gun. This reveals the 50W wireless charger, making it the fastest wireless charging phone in North America. The bottom speaker and battery are then removed, followed by a peek at the cooling system after taking off the screen.
The cooling system, or rather, systems, are indeed quite large. In fact, there are actually two vapor chambers stacked on top of each other, making this the largest cooling system ever integrated into a OnePlus phone.
Throughout the teardown process, we also get a look at the cameras, fingerprint sensor, and very interesting thermal paste.
In the end, the phone is reassembled and does turn on, but unfortunately, the screen is damaged in the process. However, it’s a worthy sacrifice for us to have a glimpse of those vapor chambers, isn’t it?
