Wolff has been in charge since 2013 and believes he is still the best man for the job. From 2014 to 2021, he led the team to eight constructors’ titles in a row. “I am a shareholder myself and want the best possible return for my investment. I’m not someone who is going to cling to his post when someone else could do it better. I also have people around me who would reprimand me if I did that. But after a good conversation we decided to go for it again. I am happy to take on the challenges we face today. Sometimes they are very difficult, but I feel good and do it with great enthusiasm. I am more at risk of a boreout than of a burnout.”
Mercedes announced on Monday that the car for the new season will be unveiled at Silverstone on Wednesday, February 14. The British Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are also the team’s pilots this year.
