We have had to wait for the Tesla Cybertruck for years. Now that the electric pick-up is finally here, our jaws drop in surprise at its bizarre specifications. Yet we discover a false promise from Elon Musk, with major financial consequences. The first Tesla Cybertruck was delivered on November 30 with a festive event at the company’s headquarters Tesla in Austin, Texas. The groundbreaking pickup was unveiled by CEO Elon Musk in 2019, but was delayed for four years for various reasons. We do deliver our free newsletter when we promise, namely once a week!
Cybertruck specifications
Now that the first Cybertruck has actually been delivered, speculation about the technical specifications of the hyped EV can stop. Tesla has now released this. The Cybertruck is available in three versions: Rear-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Drive Dual Motor and the top model also called Cyberbeast.
Tesla Cybertruck range
According to Tesla, the entry-level car with rear-wheel drive has a range of 402 kilometers (250 miles). Tesla does not reveal anything about the power, but the sprint from 0-100 km/h is completed in 6.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Cybertruck RWD has a maximum towing capacity of over 3400 kilos! The basic version will only be available in 2025, because Tesla will first focus on the more expensive Cybertrucks.
Cybertruck draw weight
The AWD version of the Cybertruck gets an electric motor on the front axle, making the pick-up a four-wheel drive. The two engines give the Cybertruck a power of 600 hp, which accelerates the EV from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. This version can drive 563 kilometers (350 miles) on a single charge and has an even higher, excessive towing capacity of almost 5,000 kilos.
Cyberbeast is the strongest
Then to the top version of the Cybertruck, which has been renamed the Cyberbeast by Tesla. The EV owes this name to its staggering power of 845 hp and its lightning-fast sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in, hold on, just 2.6 seconds. The Cyberbeast has a range of 515 kilometers (320 miles) and the same towing capacity as the AWD version.
Tesla Cybertruck Price
We’ve skipped one more aspect of the Cybertruck: the price. Although the electric pickup’s lavish specifications are impressive, many people will still be disappointed after hearing the prices. You can get in from around $60,990. For the AWD version, customers have to pay $ 79,990, the Cyberbeast adds another 20 grand on top of that and therefore costs almost a ton. The European prices will be announced later. Now those prices are not that crazy if you look at the prices of competitors. This is how the Ford F-150 Lightning between $50,000 and $92,000, the Rivian R1T between $73,000 and $94,000 and the Chevrolet Silverado EV between $74,800 and $106,898. But we are still disappointed. Four years ago, Elon Musk promised to offer the Cybertruck for less than $40,000, rising to a maximum of $70 grand. A higher price was expected due to corona, wars, material shortages and inflation, but a price increase of 50 percent is very bizarre. Just like its specifications.
