2023 is a year to forget for Audi, with exactly zero new models. But in 2024 Ingolstadt will go wild with, among others, the A4 e-tron, the A5, the A6 e-tron and the Audi Q6 e-tron. Everything will be different, even the name of the models. There was no need for exciting car news in 2023 Audi to knock on. It remained a facelift for the Audi Q8 and Q8 e-tron. But in 2024 there will be a news explosion at Audi. There is something to report in almost every car segment. Audi wants to offer a car with a combustion engine and an electric car in every relevant segment. We start with news on the name front, because Audi is overhauling all familiar type names. In the new system, all even numbers are reserved for electric models, while the odd numbers indicate an Audi with a combustion engine. Pretty simple, right? New Audi A6, Q6 The new model name structure will be used for the first time when the new Audi A6 e-tron is introduced in 2024. This fully electric model will therefore have a name that is already taken. The solution is simple: the current one Audi A6 will from now on go through life as Audi A7. This also means that the A7 as we know it now will disappear. Another example is the new Audi Q6 e-tron, a fully electric SUV that will serve as an emission-free alternative to the popular Audi Q5. As if that wasn’t enough, the Audi A4 will also come onto the market in 2024. According to the new Audi logic, the electric version will be known as the Audi A4 e-tron and the versions with a combustion engine as the Audi A5. A new Audi Q3 will probably also come onto the market in 2024 (with combustion engines), which is technically identical to the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Cupra Terramar, with which he will roll off the production line in the Spanish factory. Audi A3 facelift There is also less big news. For example, the Audi A3 will receive a facelift in 2024 and there will also be new sporty versions, such as the S3 and the RS 3. We can also expect sporty derivatives from the Audi A5: the S5 and the RS 5. Finally, the Audi Q7 will get a facelift. a facelift in 2024. Want to stay informed about Audi news? The Audi A4, A6 and Q6 are based on that platform. The Porsche Macan is the first car from the Volkswagen Group with this platform. Thanks to the modular platform, the Volkswagen Group brands can vary endlessly with the wheelbase, ground clearance and track width. The platform is therefore suitable for different bodywork. From large and medium-sized SUVs to low and sporty models and station wagons. 800 volt technology The size of the battery pack can also be varied. The PPE platform can be combined with both rear and four-wheel drive. In the four-wheel drive versions, an electric motor is coupled to both axles. Audi is not yet releasing all the details, but the new models will have 800 volt technology and the charging capacity can reach up to 350 kW. Audi is also proud of the lighting of the new models. The headlights and taillights consist of so many OLED panels and segments that they can display beautiful light shows. Continuously changing light image not only looks cool, it is also used to warn other road users. For example, the digital rear lights of the A4 e-tron, A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron can display warning symbols to alert others to accidents or stationary cars. All electric models get the well-known single frame grille, without air vents. Tip Well insured on the road Choose the coverage that suits your (electric) car with Interpolis Car Insurance. This is what we know about the Audi Q6 e-tron (2024) The Audi Q6 e-tron is also built on the PPE platform. With its dimensions, the Q6 e-tron falls exactly between the current Q4 e-tron and the new Q8 e-tron.
