Meizu has successfully launched its latest Android flagship smartphone, the Meizu 21, at a dedicated launch event held in China today. The device comes as a successor to last year’s Meizu 20 and offers the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 200MP main camera, and 80W fast charging.
Meizu 21
The Meizu 21 features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel boasts symmetrical 1.74mm side and top bezels and cranks out up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness in auto mode. Meizu offers the phone in black, purple, green, and white colors, with the latter also getting color-matched white display bezels, which is something you don’t see very often.
Meizu 21 screen specifications
Being a flagship phone launched in late 2023 means that the Meizu 21 gets the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The back retains the metal camera rings design of the Meizu 20, but we now get a 200MP main camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 – a 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/1.69 aperture and OIS.
Meizu 21 cameras and RGB light
The second cutout is for the 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the third one has a 5MP portrait camera. You will also see the RGB ring flash, which can be switched to display a preset color or pattern for notifications. The Meizu 21 is also IP54 rated and brings a 4,800mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
The Meizu 21 also debuts with FlymeOS 10.5 based on Android 13 and supports Flyme Auto – the manufacturer’s in-car infotainment system compatible with Meizu parent company Geely’s Lynk & Co 08 electric SUV, serving as the first vehicle to support FlymeAuto. Speaking of electric vehicles, Meizu has announced its plans to launch a Meizu DreamCar MX vehicle in Q1 2024.
Meizu 21 prices in China start at CNY 3,399 ($480) for the 8/256GB trim and go up to CNY 3,999 ($565) for the 12/512GB. Meizu has also confirmed that it will offer an extended 36-month warranty with all Meizu 21 phones. Open sales start on December 5th.
