Yuki Tsunoda had a perilous moment at the Brazilian GP in the tenth corner and finished ninth with AlphaTauri scoring points for the third consecutive race.
After scoring points in three successive races, AlphaTauri has improved its position in the constructors’ championship, now just a few points behind seventh place.
Yuki Tsunoda expressed surprise at AlphaTauri’s strong performance at the Interlagos circuit, stating, “It’s a big surprise and I think we were close to the competition.”
He also emphasized the team’s determination to continue scoring points in the upcoming races and to strive for a seventh-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship.
Tsunoda noted a noticeable improvement in the car’s balance after the upgrades introduced during the Austin race weekend, stating, “I have a better feeling with the balance in the car, the results prove that, we have clearly taken a big step forward.”
Despite the improvements, Tsunoda had a close call at the Brazilian GP when he hit the grass and spun in Turn 10, narrowly avoiding a crash into the wall and losing positions as a result.
Reflecting on the incident, Tsunoda admitted, “That was a big mistake on my part, it was a bit of a stretch. I shit my pants but luckily it wasn’t a chore.”
