AI is set to be the buzzword of the year, and Samsung has decided to not be left out of the “let’s AI-ify everything everywhere” game. Today, it was announced that ‘a new era of Galaxy AI is coming’.
One example given is AI Live Translate Call, which is exactly what the name implies. “Soon,” users “with the latest Galaxy AI phone” will have a personal translator whenever they need it. It will be integrated into the native calling function, so “the hassle of using third-party apps is gone,” Samsung proudly proclaims.
Audio and text translations will appear in real-time as you speak, and it all happens on the device, so the content of your conversations never leaves your phone. This makes “calling someone who speaks another language about as simple as turning on closed captioning when you’re streaming a show.”
It has been confirmed that the Korean company will heavily push the AI buzzword for the launch of the upcoming Galaxy S24 series, expected to be unveiled on January 17. This is pretty much Samsung’s confirmation of that fact, “the latest Galaxy AI phone,” anyone?
So, get ready for “Galaxy AI.” According to Samsung itself, it is “a comprehensive mobile AI experience, powered by both on-device AI developed at Samsung and cloud-based AI”, made possible by its “open collaboration with like-minded industry leaders.”
It will “transform your everyday mobile experience with the peace of mind you rely on from Galaxy security and privacy” because “no company can harness AI’s potential like Galaxy.”
If you’re wondering why “Galaxy” is in a unique position to “harness” all this potential, it’s because, get this – “only Galaxy puts the power of openness in the palm of your hand.”
So, “early next year,” “Galaxy AI will bring us closer to a world where some of the most common barriers to social connection are solved, and communication is easier and more productive than ever.”
